Cool FM snap River King's win streak with 3-2 loss on home ice

CORNWALL, Ontario - Despite a strong effort, the Cornwall River Kings fell 3-2 against Saint-Georges Cool FM on home ice, ending a four-game winning streak on Jan. 25 in front of a crowd of 2,152.

Cool FM wiped a 1-0 lead in the first frame with three goals in the second period against the River Kings carrying them to victory.

Sasha Pokulok opened the scoring for the River Kings at 17:42 with a goal assisted by Julien Corriveau and Pierre-Luc Faubert.

The scoreboard finally started to see action again in the second period with two markers by Cool FM's Charles A. Bergeron at 10:46 and 14:52. The first assisted by Maxime Levesque and Mario Jr Boilard; the latter by Jean-Philippe Paquet and Dominic Jalbert.

Mikael Bedard made Cool FM's third and defining goal at 16:48 assisted by Fabien Laniel and Jean-Philippe Pare.

The River Kings hammered back with a goal by Julien Corriveau assisted by Pierre-Luc Faubert at 5:38 in the third. But Cool FM had already sealed the deal.

Stars of the game were Jeremy Duchense, Sasha Pokulok, and Charles A. Bergeron.

The River Kings will be playing the Laval Braves on Friday, Jan. 31 at 8:00 p.m. at the Colisée de Laval.
