CORNWALL, Ontario – A former head coach and player with the Cornwall Royals is expected to become a member of the Ottawa Senators staff this week.

Reports out of the nation’s capital auggest Marc Crawford, who began a coaching career with the Royals in 1989 following a brief NHL career as a player, will be an associate coach with the Sens.

Crawford also played for the Royals, winning a pair of Memorial Cups in the early 1980s. He also won a Stanley Cup as the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche in 1996.

Crawford still has family in Cornwall.

He won the Jack Adams Trophy as NHL coach of the year in 1994-95.
