A flag raising ceremony was held at City Hall in honour of White Cane Week, from February 7 to 13. A yearly Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) event, White Cane Week is a time of awareness, to emphasize the ability of the blind and visually impaired, not the disability. There will be an information booth at the Cornwall Square on Thursday, Feb. 11 and Friday, Feb. 12. The CCB is a community based membership driven, national organization. Operating at a grassroots level, the CCB provides peer mentoring, education, support, and socialization, through a variety of activities.
