The staff at Central Public School introduced students to Froglogic, a fitness, nutrition and character-building program based on US Navy SEAL concepts. Mission O (for “opportunity”) is an active and educational play day that will focus on the virtues of being healthy, doing physical training (PT), having a positive attitude and being respectful. This is the first year of Froglogic at Central PS. The school’s new principal, Kieran Kennedy, introduced the program at East Front Public School in 2007 and witnessed school-wide wellness success. This year he looks forward to arming Central PS students with a variety of tools that will help them stay healthy for life. Students from grades 1 to 6 will participate in a variety of sessions organized and run by staff throughout the day. The primary division (grades 1 to 3) will focus on the need to embrace a positive attitude daily. The junior division (grades 4 to 6) will address the virtue of respect. Kindergarten students will also participate in their own Froglogic day, but their activities will take place within the three kindergarten classrooms.
