The Cornwall Midget girls’ White Thrashers started the season off on the right foot winning the Cornwall girls’ hockey tournament. Solid defense was the foundation for the Thrashers with Goaltender Gabrielle Boisvenue leading the way. In front of her was the defensive wall of Desiree Koggle, Chloe Rozon, Annie St. Marseille, Hillary Brownlee and Sadie Shayler. The White Thrashers opened the tournament with a 3–1 win against Kanata with goals by Meaghan Vlacholias, Tessa Cicchini, and Jenny Lee with a goal and an assist. Sarah Campbell had the other assist. In game 2, the girls made it a little more exciting falling behind 2–0 late in the second period to the Wildcats. The Thrashers then turned it around with Jenny Lee scoring an unassisted goal just before the third period. She scored again with 2:25 left on the clock to tie the game.The girls never gave up, and with four seconds left on the clock, Sarah Campbell scored the winner. Chloe Rozon had both assists. In a 3–0 win over Nepean, the girls displayed an offensive attack, leaving their opponents nowhere to move. Forwards Meaghan Vlacholias, Michelle Rozon, Tessa Cicchini, Paige Smith, Shawna Reid, Jenny Lee and Sarah Campbell were too much for them. Goals went to M. Rozon, M. Vlacholias and Paige Smith. Smith also had both assists to lead the way for a semi-final match against Kingston. Kingston opened the scoring four minutes into the game, but the girls rallied again with another explosive offensive performance winning 4–1; goals by M. Vlacholias assisted by S. Campbell, M. Rozon; Tessa Cicchini with the second assisted by Vlacholias,S. Reid; third Jenny Lee with 2 goals and an assist; last goal assisted by Cicchini and Reid. The win put the Thrashers in the finals against Nepean. Nepean opened the scoring early, but the girls were determined after coming this far to push forward to capture the tournament championship with a 3–2 victory. Goals were Campbell, Desiree Koggle, and Vlacholias with a goal and assist. Smith had the other assist.
