The second annual Winterfest/Carnaval “A Celebration of Family” is underway! Last year’s event generated an attendance of over 6,000 people and we would like to invite you to take part in this year’s carnival February 14, 15 and 16 at Cornwall Civic Complex and Lamoureux Park. Join us for great family fun and great prizes for the whole weekend!
Featured Activities - Saturday, February 14:
• Opening Ceremonies at 10 a.m. – Lamoureux Park
• Free swimming noon to 1 p.m. – Cornwall Aquatic Centre
• Visit the Cornwall Museum and enjoy a mug of hot apple cider between noon and 3 p.m.
Featured Activities - Sunday, February 15:
• Energize Obstacle Course 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Free swimming noon to 1 p.m. - Cornwall Aquatic Centre
• Visit the Cornwall Museum and enjoy a mug of hot apple cider between noon and 3 p.m.
• Snow Jam–Big Ben Ski Hill
Featured Activities - Monday, February 16:
• Dog Sledding Demonstration 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Free swimming, Cornwall Aquatic Centre noon to 12:50 p.m.; 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.; and 2 to 2:50 p.m.
• Free indoor skating, Cornwall Civic Complex 11 a.m. - noon; 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Activities on site in Lamoureux Park all three days of the carnival include Ice Sculptures, Mama Woof, an SD&G Highlanders demonstration, an outdoor rink (weather permitting) and a snow maze at the Lions Club Bandshell. There will also be a variety of entertainment throughout the weekend by local organizations.
All activities are free and will be held throughout the day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. A free shuttle service will be available to Lamoureux Park. Pick-up locations are to be determined closer to the carnival date. The Winterfest Committee is also still in need of volunteers and are still accepting sponsorship.
