Micheline Martel continues her wonderful experience in Whistler. “I went against all the rules and this is what I did: I was basking in the sun on a terrace after a day of skiing, and at the table right next to us there were Russian people enjoying themselves. A young girl had the nicest backpack and uniform. I asked her if she felt like trading something. We exchanged gloves. Her’s were BOLCO, the colors for the 2014 Olympics. I gave her my blue ones that came with my uniform. I was super excited. You can be sure that I will proudly display those gloves everywhere I go. We also received free tickets for the medal ceremony for the evening, we sat in the very first row. We also went to the Olympic Park for the Nordic competition in ski jumping and cross country skiing. It is mesmerizing to watch the athletes do those incredible jumps with such ease. We are already getting ready for the Paralympics in Whistler. We have adopted the Austrians and we often visit the Austrian House.”
