On their home court, the Patriotes from La Citadelle Catholic High School won all three games against the St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School Panthers in senior girls’ volleyball ball action on February 9.
Game one was very close but La Citadelle came away with a 27-26 victory. With the momentum on their side following the win, the Pats squeaked out a 25-21 win in game two and sealed the deal with a 25-19 triumph in game three.
Going into action Wednesday afternoon, the girls had a perfect 5-0 record against SD&G opponents, with victories over North Dundas, CCVS, Heritage, Glengarry and St. Joseph’s.
As of February 9, they were in second place with 10 points behind CCVS. However, CCVS had 2 sets at hand and has completed their regular season play. In order to get win, a team must win at least two of three games in a set.
La Citadelle also faced Rothwell-Osnabruck on Thursday but the results were not available at publication time. They will be added to the story once they become available.
The Patriotes will close out their season on Tuesday, February 15, as they will travel to St. Joseph’s to battle North Dundas. The Panthers will also finish their regular season that day when they face North Dundas and Holy Trinity.
