With the signing of a proclamation by Mayor Bob Kilger, the City of Cornwall joins the rest of the province of Ontario in marking October as Child Abuse and Prevention Month. The Children's Aid Society of SDG has many events planned throughout the month, including media releases, information kiosks at the Cornwall Square, a colouring contest, and radio play of the jingle by Casey the Owl. Also during the month, the CAS will be distributing purple ribbons in an effort to raise awareness of the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and to encourage citizens in our communities to become involved. If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected or needs help, please call 613-933-2292.
