The Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Business Excellence Awards and Citizen of the Year banquet on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009. It is seeking nominations for both Business Excellence and Citizen of the Year.

There are a total of eight business awards including

• Above and Beyond

• Entrepreneur of the Year

• Skills Development

• Small Business of the Year

• Business of the Year

• Industry of the Year

• Lifetime Business Achievement

• Breakthrough

These business awards provide tangible recognition to firms and individuals within our professional business community whose efforts and performance contribute to the economic growth and prosperity of the city and surrounding area.

In addition, there are both the prestigious Humanitarian and Citizen of the Year awards. These awards recognize those whose selfless commitment to the community has made Cornwall a better place to work and to live. They may work for a local firm or serve as a volunteer in one or more of a large number of agencies and other groups dedicated to helping others in the community.
