The Seaway Valley Blazers U10 boys launched their 2009 campaign with a heated game against a rival and talented Glengarry Hearts on Monday, May 25. After the first half the game was deadlocked at 2–2. The Blazers soon settled in after their “first game jitters” with some outstanding defensive play and an outburst of scoring to give the Blazers boys their first win of the season handing the Hearts a 6–3 defeat. The Laframboise Mechanical Player of the Game went to #22, right flanker Mathieu Gagnon, who literally blazed in the second half with three goals. Also adding to the scoring were Noah Leduc, Grant Craig, and Eryck Marleau.
