The Seaway Valley U10 boys’ Blazers burned up the competition at the Ottawa Icebreaker Tournament on the May 29th weekend. No terrible weather conditions or terrific soccer teams were going to deny the Blazers their destiny as champions this weekend. On Saturday they dominated their opponents outscoring them 10–3 in three games in round-robin competition. In the elimination round Sunday, the boys picked up their game another notch by dominating opponents 16–2 in three games. Off to the finals they went where they faced a talented Gatineau team and it was no time to slow up. Chants on the bench rose up by the players “It’s your turn to feel the burn!” They kept to that promise. They blazed onto the field and finished up the game and their first championship with a 6–1 win and a gold medal.
