Cornwall Bantam Celtic's take gold in Kingston
The Cornwall Bantam Celtics lacrosse Team brought home the gold medal at last weekend's Limestone Invitational Tournament in Kingston. Cornwall won all five games to take home the gold. In round robin play Cornwall faced Brockville, winning 19-2; won 9-5 vs. Huntsville and 12-7 vs. Kingston. Semi final game was against Brockville, and Cornwall moved into the finals with a 12-4 win. The final was against Huntsville. Cornwall took the lead and never looked back winning 6-3. Goaltenders Josee Daze and Tazzaz Jacobs Oakes played excellent. All players on the team were on the scoreboard throughout the tournament. Top scorers throughout the weekend were Blain MacKay with 8, Ethan Coleman with 9, James Edwardson with 6, Cole Blanchard with 7 and Brock Daze with 10. Rounding out the team are Jeremy Lemoine, Samuel Fontaine, Kyle Skidders, Ross Craig, Trysten Thompson, Cameron Michels, Liam Vipond and Connor Nixon. Coaching the Bantam Celtics this year is head coach Danny MacKay and Assistant Phil Fontaine.
