BERGERON, Marie-Rosina (née Lauzon) - Mrs. Marie-Rosina Bergeron, with her family by her side, passed away at St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall, on Friday March 24, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the late Albert Bergeron. Loved mother of Ronald Bergeron (Marilyn), Elaine Edwards, Lillian Lemire (Jacques), Theresa Bergeron (Howard Crump), Anne-Marie Seller; and predeceased by her children Françoise Bergeron, and Anita Pride. Sadly missed by 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Loving daughter of the late Andre and Monica (née Depratto) Lauzon. Dear sister of Aline Roy (Gerald), Madeleine Lamarche, and Jean Lauzon (Michele). Predeceased by her siblings Oscar, Laurent, and Leopold Lauzon; Rita Marshall, Thérèse Lalonde and Laurette Rousseau. Marie was a skilled businesswoman in the community and was instrumental in co-founding Bergeron Electric many years ago. There will be no visitation. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 2900 Second Street, East, Cornwall on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM. KEEN, Dorothy (née Belson) - Mrs. Dorothy Keen, with her family by her side, at the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge, Cornwall on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at the age of 101 years. Dorothy was very active in the community in a variety of capacities. She was a strong supporter of the Trinity Anglican Church Women; was among the first to volunteer with Meals on Wheels when it began, volunteered with the cancer clinic, and as well with the Arthritis Society. Dorothy was much loved and cared for. In particular the family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful and dedicated staff at Chateau Cornwall, and Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Laurence "Larry" Keen Sr. Dear mother of Laurence Keen (Lynn) and Brian Keen (Janice). Sadly missed by her 5 grandchildren Shari, Brenda, Melissa, Wesley, and Jennifer; and 9 great-grandchildren. Loved daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (née Hassell) Belson. Predeceased by her siblings William, Richard, Arthur and Robert Belson. Resting at the WILSON FUNERAL HOME , 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall where visitation will be held on Monday from 2 - 4:30 & 7 - 9 PM. PILON, Mariette - Passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017 surrounded by family at Cornwall Hospice; age 79 years. Loving wife of the late Rénald Pilon. Beloved mother of Marc Pilon (Diana) and Nicole Pilon. Cherished grandmother of Brianne (Grant), Madison (Tyson) and Kerigan. Dear sister of Denise Tessier (late Gordon) and the late Gilles Trottier (Rachelle). Predeceased by her parents Hervé and Camilla (née Seguin) Trottier. Mariette will be greatly missed by her nieces Jennifer and Kim as well as many family and friends. Former owner of "Marie's Knitting Basket". Cremation. DUCHESNE, Robert - Mr. Robert Duchesne passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Parisien Manor at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Francis (née Riviere) Duchesne. Cherished grandfather of Josée (Jamie), Annie (Yanick) & Mathieu Gagné, Luc (Natalie) & Joël Langlois, Stéphanie & Christopher McDonald, Kristen (Lance) Robyn & Carolyn Laflèche. Beloved great-grandfather of Mia, Zack, Lauryn, Jonah and Matéo. Survived by his sisters, Yvette Collette (Albert) & Denise Doré (Robert) and brother, Jean Laflèche (Suzanne) and sister-in-law, Réjeanne Laflèche. SAMSON, Jean-Paul - C'est avec beaucoup de tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de M. Jean-Paul Samson à l'Hôpital communautaire de Cornwall le vendredi 24 mars 2017, à l'âge de 74 ans. Il a oeuvré avec succès comme enseignant aux écoles Jean XXIII, Nativité et Sainte-Thérèse et a été le propriétaire du Dépanneur Samson pendant 25 ans. Il était le fils de Hector et Marie-Anne (née Séguin) Samson. Époux dévoué et bien-aimé de Ginette (née Lamoureux) pendant 45 ans , il laisse également dans le deuil ses enfants Chantal-Andrée Samson (Robert Rival), Paul-Antoine Samson (Joanne Givogue) et Anne-Marie Samson (Alex Wilson), ses trois petits-enfants Raphaël, Emma-Blanche et Zacharie ainsi que ses frères et soeur, feu Roland (Jeannine), Aurèle (Paulette), Gérald (Claudette) et Elaine (Bob). Des obsèques privées ont déjà eu lieu. Jean-Paul s'intéressait beaucoup à la généalogie, au théâtre et au cinéma. Il adorait s'occuper de son "Dépanneur Samson" et avait tissé des liens très étroits avec son groupe de déjeuners d'enseignantes et d'enseignants à la retraite. Fier franco-ontarien, il était généreux et appuyait discrètement les organisations communautaires. Jean-Paul was particularly interested in geneology, theatre and cinema. He loved looking after his "Samson Mini-Mart" on Leonia Street and had developed very close links with his breakfast groups of retired teachers. Proud of his franco-ontarian heritage, he was known for his generosity and provided support to many community groups. FERGUSON, Joyce - Passed away peacefully at the Maxville Manor, on March 26, 2017. Mary Joyce Ferguson (Campbell) of Maxville, age 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Rae Ferguson. Loving mother of Mary McLeod (Findlay) of Glen Nevis and Elizabeth Kippen (Willie) of Maxville. WALDROFF, Melvin - December 13, 1923 - March 25, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melvin Waldroff in his 94th year. Melvin was born and raised in Newington, Ontario and lived there until moving to the Riverdale Retirement Residence in Cornwall in 2012. He was the founder of M.J. Waldroff Limited, school buses and milk haulage. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Alguire) for almost 70 years. Loving father of Wayne (Lynda) of Milton and Kevin (Cindy) of Newington. Grandfather of Brianne (Jeff Dier) and Dylan (Brittany Gellately) and great-grandfather to Blake and Jordan Dier. He also leaves sisters Dorothy Craig of Ottawa and Marjorie Quenneville of North Bay. Predeceased by his parents Willis and Nellie Waldroff and one sister Elizabeth Beaudette.
