CORNWALL, Ontario – The street machines were out in full force at the annual Kinsmen in Motion Show & Shine this Saturday, Aug. 19.
In conjunction with Cornwall Food Fest, show cars were lined up and shined up down First and Pitt street – just steps away from the event’s delicious food vendors.
Yvon Viau has been attending classic car and bike shows for some time now with his 1948 Indian Chief Bonneville. Taking five years to restore the bike, he says it was a labour of love.
“It was really important to me that I got all the details just right,” said Viau. “I spent a lot of time researching parts and talking to club members.”
While the bike is no less pristine than the day it was driven off the lot, Viau says he’s always ridden it.
“There are so many guys who show up with their bike, and don’t even ride it,” said Viau. “I ride all the time and I love it.”
Jodie McGetchie is the proud owner of a 1967 Camaro, and says she has been in love with cars almost as long as her husband.
“When I met him when I was 15, he had a really nice car,” laughed McGetchie. “So, it’s something we’ve always sort of been into.”
