CORNWALL, Ontario – St. Lawrence College (SLC) received a 100 percent score on the satisfaction of employers hiring recent graduates.

According to the annual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) survey, this score is well over the provincial average of 91.2 percent.

The survey stated that 86.5 percent of SLC graduates found employment within six months of graduation, as opposed to the provincial average of 83 percent.

While Ontario’s satisfaction rate for quality of education was 78.8 percent, SLC received a score of 84.5 percent. When it came to current students’ satisfaction, only 76.5 percent of Ontario students reported satisfaction in the quality of their education, while St. Lawrence College students felt 80 percent satisfaction.

“Our guarantee to students is that they will be career-ready when they graduate,” said Glenn Vollebregt,   President and CEO, St. Lawrence College. “We work very closely with our industry partners to make sure we are meeting their future needs and we’re very proud that one hundred percent of employers are satisfied with the graduates they hire.”

Provincial KPIs have been gathered annually since 1998 by two independent research firms for the colleges, and for the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development. The most recent data was collected March 2016 to February 2017.
