Drugs seized in St. Andrews

ST. ANDREWS, Ontario – On Jan. 4, 2017 at approximately 2:27 a.m., an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a pedestrian on Highway 138, South Stormont Township (St-Andrews West area).

The accused provided the officer with false identification. A check of his true identity revealed that he was in contravention of several conditions imposed from previous incidents. Upon his arrest, quantities of suspected Clonazapan tablets were seized.

Shane BLANCHARD (27) of Cornwall, Ontario is charged with;

– Personation With Intent
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
