Donation jar stolen

CORNWALL, Ontario – Steven Nyhof, 37 of Cornwall was arrested on March 24, 2017 and charged with theft under $5, 000. It is alleged the man entered a local business on March 9, 2017 and took a donation jar from one of the counters.

Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. In the early morning hours of March 24th, 2017 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 27th, 2017.

THEFT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Joseph Mowbray, 39, of no fixed address was arrested on March 23, 2017 and charged with theft under $5, 000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 22, 2017 the man entered a local business and removed a pair of sunglasses making no attempt to pay for the glasses as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man who was in custody on other charges was charged accordingly and remained in custody pending a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kasandra Paauw, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on March 23, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to notify a change of address. It is alleged while investigating an unrelated matter it was learned the woman failed to notify a change of address and a warrant was obtained for her arrest. On March 23, 2017 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the woman from OPP as they had taken the woman into custody on the strength Cornwall’s warrant. She was held for a bail hearing.
