The fire started at around noon in the bottom apartment at 646 St. Felix St. and quickly spread up the front of the house to the top floor.

A resident of the upstairs apartment told Seaway News that he had returned home from a night shift and had fallen asleep when a good samaritan knocked on his door until he woke up and got him out of the building. They then checked the downstairs apartment for his downstairs neighbour, but found that she was out.

No injuries resulted from the fire.

The fire was quickly brought under control by the Cornwall Fire Service.

As of reporting St. Felix St. is closed from Fourth St. to Third St. while an investigation into the fire continues.
