NORTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On April 21, 2017 at approximately 11:25pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a disturbance (noise complaint) at a residence on County Road 43, North Dundas Township.
As officers confronted an adult male involved, he became aggressive and threatened and assaulted officers. No injuries resulted.
Michael LAWLOR (50) of North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault With a Weapon (propane tank in hand)
– Assault Peace Officer
– Uttering Threats
– Resist Peace Officer
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 6, 2017.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(North Stormont) – On April 23, 2017 at approximately 1:44pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Concession 1-2, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his current common-law spouse resulted in the female being assaulted and choked. Further information also revealed historical assaults involving his ex-spouse.
The 36-year-old male from North Stormont was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault – Spousal (2 counts)
– Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke, Suffocate or Strangle Another Person
– Sexual Assault (3 counts)
– Forcible Confinement
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identities of the victims.
MISCHIEF/THEFT
(South Stormont) – On April 22, 2017 at approximately 6:59pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of mischief and theft at a property on Cornwall Centre Road, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that two (2) adult males had removed licence plates from a vehicle in the parking area, causing damage to the vehicle.
Scott HOPE (20) and Shane GOUGEON (30), both of South Stormont Township were arrested and each charged with;
– Mischief
– Theft Under $5, 000
Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 18, 2017.
