CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada has issued a thunderstorm watch for Cornwall and SD&G.
This is the second thunderstorm watch issued for the area by Environment Canada in as many days.
“There is the potential for scattered thunderstorms to develop just north of Lake Ontario and across eastern Ontario starting near noon and into early this evening,” the statement reads. “Some of these storms may contain wind gusts of 90 km/h and hail of 2 cm.”
The storm is likely to hit the Counties and Cornwall Island more than the City of Cornwall itself, according to projections from The Weather Network.
