CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada is warning of yet another storm for Cornwall and SD&G.

There has been a significant rain event or thunderstorm everyday since Saturday. Often these storms have brought hail and today’s will be no different.

According to The Weather Network, rain is supposed to begin over lunch hour today and continue for most of the afternoon.

“Today marks the third day of unsettled thundery weather across portions of Southern Ontario.,” the statement from Environment Canada reads. “Scattered thunderstorms will occur once again, but predominantly over Eastern Ontario. Many of these thunderstorms will once again contain pea-sized hail. And it may be abundant enough to partially cover the ground at times. The main concern is damage to tender crops and plants. Isolated wind gusts to 70 km/h are also possible,” the statement continues.

Hail can damage many soft above ground crops such as cucumbers and tomatoes.
