School workshop

Published on February 7, 2013
The Heart and Stroke Foundation was a Eamers Corners Public School bright and early Monday morning for a workshop with grades four to six, on the importance of nutrition and physical activity. Discussions included making healthy choices, whether they are home or out, said Lynne Groulx, program coordinator, with the agency. She also addressed how to improve children’s inactivity as well as the impact commercial advertising has on our nutrition. The Heart and Stroke Foundation visits schools throughout SD&G as well as Prescott-Russell with their healthy living message. Two nursing students at St-Lawrence College were also on hand to help out. Pictured (in front L-R) are grade four students Kaitlyn Brammall and Sean Cowan. In back (L-R) are Michelle Seguin, nursing student; Lynne Groulx, program coordinator, Heart and Stroke Foundation; and Amy Condie, nursing student.
