CORNWALL, Ontario - All eyes are on Lamoureux Park tonight, as Lift-Off delivers a heavy dose of free music and family activities to kick off its 20th anniversary celebration.

City residents had plenty to say about Lift-Off as they visited the TD Family Fun Zone, located alongside the bike path at the festival's main entrance:

"This a great day for the kids. And you can't get better than the price for this year's Lift-Off," said Kari Laird-Marleau.

Belinda MacDougall took her sons to enjoy all the outdoor fun. But without a babysitter she will be reluctantly missing all the musical acts this weekend.

"There's so much for the kids to do at no cost. It's a great place to bump into old friends you normally only get a chance to speak to online," said MacDougall.

It was four-year-old Sarah Rolland's first time at Lift-Off. Her great grandma, Claudette Martin, hopes the festival continues for another 20 years since it offers so many free activities for local youth. Rolland was hooked on the carnival games, and couldn't wait to try more rides.

The kids' fun zone features a variety of children's activities, including a tiny tot play centre, 50-foot obstacle course, 30-foot slide, water paddle boats, face and nail painting, and hoola hoops.

More to come.
