CORNWALL, Ontario – Tony Luis faced Giovanni Straffon in his third fight in his home town and in his first title defense at home.

The fight took place at the Civic Complex on Saturday, Oct. 14 and was promoted by Liveco Boxing.

There were five fights on the card, with the third fight for Cornwall local Ronnie Robidoux being cancelled due to his opponent being unable to fight because of an injury.

The fourth bout ended in the second round after Nick Guivas was knocked down by the Ukranian Oleksandr Teslenko leading to a knockout victory for Teslenko.

Luis defended his NABA Lightweight Championship against Straffon for 10 rounds and won via judges decision.

Luis originally won his title after a fight against Cam O’Connell in Cornwall on June 17 for the then vacant title.

After the fight, Straffon challeneged Luis to a rematch, but Luis refused saying “I’m moving forward.”
