KAYE – Rose

Passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 20, 2008. Mrs. Rose Kaye (née Tudiver) formerly of Cornwall. Dearly beloved wife of the late David Kaye. Dear sister of Irving Tudiver, Sally Margolese and Eva Efros. Dear sister-in-law of the late Rose Tudiver of Montreal, the late Ethel Manor of Israel and the late Rae and Saul Kaye of Cornwall. Loved aunt of Neil and Sari Tudiver, Fred and Judy Tudiver, Frima Zelovics and Ted Efros, Steven and Laurie Kaye and Phillip and Yvonne Kaye. Great-aunt of Simon Tudiver (Sarah Overington), Jannah Tudiver (Yonatan Strauch), Elanna and Jason Zelovics and Joshua Kaye and Sofia Kaye. Funeral took place on Wednesday, April 23 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home. Interment in Beth-El Congregation Cemetery, Long Sault. Mrs. Rose Kaye was the former proprietor of Fit-Rite Shoes and The Bootery on Pitt Street in Cornwall, and was an active member of the Jewish community.

SAUVÉ – Napoléon

Passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Mr. Napoléon Sauvé formerly of Maxville, Alexandria and originally of Vankleek Hill. Beloved husband of Éva Lefebvre (née Ménard). Predeceased by his beloved spouse Germaine Sauvé (née Lefebvre) and son Gérard Sauvé. Survived by granddaughters Julie and Caroline and their families. Sadly missed by sister-in-law Dolores Archer (née Lefebvre), nieces, nephews and many friends. Rested at Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd. Mr.Napoléan Sauvé was a former WWII Veteran in the Canadian Army.

Passed away suddenly in Cornwall on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Anthony McGilvary and by a first marriage the late Aurel Longtin. Loving mother of Diane Raymond (Bob) and Mike McGilvary, both of Cornwall. Sadly missed by her grandchild Erica Mertes. Loving daughter of the late Xavier and Alma (Chalifoux) Filion. Dear sister of Lucille Sabourin (Clifford) and Fleurette Vincent (Frank). Predeceased by brothers Noe (Anna), Arthur (late Margaret), Cyril (Rita), Albert (late Viola), Henrie (late Pauline), Aldoma (Margaret) and her sister Yvonne Bisaillon (late Adrien). CAVELL – Marjorie Elizabeth (née Hyckie)

Mrs. Marjorie Cavell, Retired Registered Nurse, Toronto East General and Orthopedic Hospital, Class of 1946, passed away at Sandfield Place, Cornwall, Ontario on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, age 83 years. Beloved mother of Penny (DJ McDonald) of Williamstown, Ontario, Bruce (Cheryl) of Stittsville, Ontario and the late Ken. Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Lachlan, Scott, Alex, Cecily and Ben. She is survived by her former husband W.C. Cavell, her brother George, friends and staff at Sandfield Place, Diane Vachon, CNIB friend and other family and friends. Predeceased by her beloved son, Kenneth William, her parents, Frank and Eula Rows Hyckie and her brother, Chuck. She was born in Meaford, grew up in Kirkland Lake, lived many years in Goderich, Ontario. She nursed for my years at the Alexandria and Marine Hospital, Goderich. METCALFE – William “Bill”

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Mr. Bill Metcalfe of Cornwall, Ontario, age 68 years. He was a History Teacher at CCVS from 1964 to 1995 and Football Coach Emeritus. Dear brother of Margaret Metcalfe of Waterloo, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents William Metcalfe and Hilda Huston. He will be missed by his many former students and colleagues. To honour Bill’s wishes, there was no visitation or service. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Wilson Funeral Home, Cornwall.

WWII Veteran – Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 297. Passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, age 74 years. Beloved husband of Frances (Disotell) Saucier and by a previous marriage the late Lorraine Derouchie. Dear father of Edmond Saucier (Theresa), Richard Saucier (Lisette), Frances Mayer (Michael), Albert Saucier (Christine) and step-father of Michael Derouchie (Linda), Carol Phillips (Rodney) and Jeffrey Derouchie (Angela). Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Survived by 3 sisters, Yvonne Lalonde, Pauline Chatelain and Azilda Derouchie. Predeceased by his parents, Romeo and Alice (LeBlanc) Saucier and 3 brothers, Leonard (June), Romeo (Carmen) and Eugene Saucier (Norma).
