BOURGET – Georgette (née Mallette)

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, formerly of Cornwall, at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Rene Bourget. Dear mother of Roger Bourget (friend Claudette), Gerald Bourget (Liliane), and Roland Bourget, all of Cornwall and Jeannette (late Frank Smythe) of Ottawa. Dear sister of Marcel Mallette (Jeannine), Mrs. Rita Bourgeois (late Amedee) and Mrs. Jeannette Villeneuve (late Jean) all of Cornwall. Dear grandmother of eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear daughter of the late Albert Mallette and the late Lucienne Leclair. Predeceased by one daughter, Linda Bourget and one brother, Paul Mallette. Resting at Boulerice Funeral Home Ltd., 218 Montreal Rd. The family will be in attendance on Friday, February 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, February 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28 for Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity Co-Cathedral at 10 a.m. Spring interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

GILLIS – John

Passed away at the Janet Macdonell Pavilion on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, formerly of Cornwall at the age of 61 years. Dear father of John Gillis Jr. of Cornwall. Dear son of the late Donald Gillis and the late Helen (Harvol) Gillis. Dear brother of Raymond Gillis (Anne) and Patrick Gillis both of Cornwall, Donald Gillis of Vancouver, B.C., and Jacqueline Brabant (Alcide) of Moose Creek. Cremation. The family will be in attendance at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh St. W. from noon on Saturday, February 28. GRAHAM – Gerald Douglas

Passed away peacefully at home in Finch on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in his 64th year after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend of Janet (Grady) Graham. Cherished father of Natalie and Joshua. Dear brother of Elaine (Alex) Johnson of Burlington and Gloria Logtens of Finch. Predeceased by his parents Archie and Lillian Graham; brothers-in-law Martin Logtens, Thomas and Donald Grady. Survived by brothers-in-law Allan (Joanne) Grady of Kingston, Arnold (Dora) Grady of Cornwall and Leonard (Betty) Grady of Kanata, sisters-in-law Elaine (Joe Walsh) of Berwick, Claire (John) Sosnowski of Milton and Mary Grady of Berwick. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Brownlee Funeral Home, 18 Front St., Finch on Sunday, March 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and on Monday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., until time of funeral at 11 a.m. in Chalmers United Church, Finch. Reverend Lois Gaudet officiating. Doug enjoyed an established and rewarding 32-year career as a teacher at North Dundas District High School in Chesterville and was the former business owner of the Furniture Loft in Finch. A memorial donation may be made to a charity of your choice or a tree planted in his memory would be appreciated by the family.
