At her residence on Sunday, June 8, 2008. Gladys Mary (Daniels) Lalonde of Headline Road, formerly of St. Andrews West; age 86 years. Beloved wife of Gordon Lalonde and by a former marriage the late Lindsay Beauvais. Dear mother of Bernard Beauvais (Mignone) and Ernest Beauvais (Frances) both of Long Sault and Claire Bazil (John) of Cornwall. Loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Dear daughter of the late William Daniels and the late Lucy (Beauvais) Daniels. Dear sister of George Daniels of Calabogie, Edward and Albert Daniels both of Kingston, Alfred Daniels of Calgary and Alice Lalonde (Wilfred) of Cornwall. Predeceased by four sisters, Mabel and Florence Daniels, Emma Church (Oliver) and Beatrice Heath. Rested at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes West Branch. Funeral took place on Thursday, June 12, for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrews West, followed by cremation.

MCDONALD – Kyleigh

Accidently on Saturday, June 7, 2008. Kyleigh McDonald of Snye; age 6 years. Beloved daughter of Louie John McDonald and Julie (Skidders) McDonald. Dear sister of Louis John McDonald Jr. and Jayleigh McDonald, both of Snye. Loving granddaughter of Ricky and Marion Thompson and Alex and Laura McDonald, all of Snye, great-granddaughter of Daniel and Loveday McDonald and Betty Sunday and great-great-granddaughter of Teddy Thompson. Cherished grand niece of Harriet Lazore. Dear god child of Matthew Mitchell and Jamie Sunday. Funeral took place on Friday, June 13 for Service in the Housemaker’s Centre on River Road, Snye, at Interment Parish Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes West Branch.

CUIERRIER – Jean-Louis

Décédé le samedi 7 juin 2008 à l’Hopital Communautaire de Cornwall, site McConnell. Jean-Louis Cuierrier de Cornwall a l’age de 85. Il laisse dans le deuil son cher ami, Real Martineau, ses enfants, Nicole Crew (Larry Leblanc) d’Ashton et Guilaine Calvin (Michael) de Cornwall. Il laisse égalment son frère, Albini Cuierrier ainsi que trios petits-enfants, Shawn, Christianne et Melissa et trios arrière-petits-enfants, Hailey, Skylie et Evan. Il était le fils de feu Aldéric et de feue Céline (Lacombe) Cuierrier. Il fut prédécédé par un frère, Euclide Cuierrier et cinq soeurs, Pearle Vaillancourt, Yvette Marleau, Jean d”arc Lalonde-Marleau, Simone Cusick (Paul) et Aline Secours-Cuierrier. Le funérailles était lieu le mecredi 11 juin au l’église St. Félix-de-Valois suivit par l’incinération. L’inhumation des restes incinérés aura lieu au Cimetière St. Martin de Tours, Glen Robertson.

BRAY – Agnes (Hill)

Dear mother of Debbie Bray (Michel Watson), Derek Bray all of Cornwall, Charlie Bray (Kathleen) of Glendale Subdivision, Scott Bray (Judy) of Cornwall. Survived sisters Isabell Major (late Leo) of Lancaster and by 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Daryll and Sarah. Predeceased by her parents William and Ellen (Waite) Hill and her brother Albert Hill of London. Funeral took place on Thursday, June 12, followed by cremation. Reverend Ian MacMillan of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, South Lancaster officiated.

POTVIN – Yvette

Dear mother of Denis Potvin of Florida. Loving grandmother of Michael and great-grandmother of Hunter. Dear daughter of the late Josephat Lemieux and the late Merisa (Labelle) Lemieux. Dear sister of Fernande Henderson (late Donald) of Cornwall. Predeceased by two nephews Donald and Alfred John Lemieux. Funeral took place on Wednesday, June 11, for service in the Memorial Chapel of the Lahaie & Sullivan Funeral Home, followed by cremation.

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital – McConnell Site on Thursday, June 6, 2008. Mrs. Hilda Emma (Kyer) Desjardins formerly of Cornwall at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife of Romeo Desjardins. Dear mother of Suzanne Presseault (Arthur), Francine Lalonde (Garry) and Lise Paré (Denis) all of Cornwall. Predeceased by one infant daughter Linda Anne Desjardins. Loving grandmother of Kelly and Paul Presseault, Terri Ann and Mathew Lalonde, Stéphane and Justin Paré and great-grandmother of Keegan and Briauna. Dear daughter of the late Wilfred Kyer and the late Florida (Léger) Kyer. Dear sister of Maurice Kyer (late Julia) and Reynald Blanchard (Claudette) both of Cornwall. Predeceased by six brothers, Rodolphe (Yvonne) and Herald Kyer, Conrad, Victor, Jerry and Claude Blanchard and by three sisters Cécile Collin, Marianne Leblanc and Claudette (Léo) Meilleur. O’HARA – James (Jim)

Mr. Jim O’Hara of Cornwall suddenly at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Friday, June 6, 2008. Retired teacher for 35 years at CCVS and General Vanier secondary schools. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Evelyn (Rowe) O’Hara. Loved father of Rosemary Dawson (Kevin), Long Sault; Michael O’Hara (Joanne), Oakville; and Larry O’Hara of Toronto. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Michael, Mary, Liam and Alex. Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret (Hamill) O’Hara; one brother Joseph and one sister Roisin Duffy. Rested at Wilson Funeral Home. Mass of the Ressurection with commendation and Farewell was celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Church on Tuesday, June 10. Loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Elie Besner and the late Aline (Boisvenue) Besner. Dear brother of Gerald Besner (late Leona) of Cambridge, Albert Besner (late Mary) of St-Philippe-de-Laprairie, Quebec, Auger Besner (late Therese) of Cornwall, Yvonne Bailey (Bill) of Sarasota, Florida, and Laura Lapointe (Raymond) of Cornwall. Mrs. Grace McPherson of Cornwall peacefully at her home on Friday, June 6, 2008 age 73 years. Beloved wife of the late Donald James McPherson. Dear mother of Rhoda McPherson (Art); Donna McPherson (Roger); and Linda Legue (Claude) all of Cornwall; and Darlene Pupulin (Jerry) of Kitchener. Dear sister of Amelia Legue and Hilda Sabourin both of Cornwall; Frank Tyo (Laurette) of Martintown; Doris Desroisiers (Ray) of Ottawa; and Frances Belmore (Ken) of Windsor. Also survived by her sister-in-law Annabell McPherson of Cornwall. Loving grandmother of 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 expected great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Predeceased by her parents Joseph Arthur and Ethel May (Taillon) Tyo; one sister Edna Cooper Moore; and by one brother-in-law Gerald McPherson. Rested at Wilson Funeral Home. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell was celebrated in St. Columban’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, June 9. Rite of committal followed in Notre Dame Cemetery.

At home on Thursday, June 5, 2008. Maurice Oliva Sauvé of Alexandria; age 72 years. Beloved husband of Lisette Sauvé (née Lepage). Loving father of Jacques Sauvé (Linda Primeau) of Cornwall. Dear brother of Laurence Nadon (Maxime) of Laval, Lorraine Sauvé of Trois Riviéres, Lorna Papou (Peter) of Merritt, British Columbia, and Delia Paquette (André) of Saskatoon. Predeceased by four brothers; Roger, Raymond, Roméo and Laurent Sauvé. Dear son of the late Ovila Sauvé and the late Victoria Saucier. Also survived by one grandson Matthew Sauvé. The funeral service took place in the Chapel of the Munro & Morris Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11. Interment of Cremated Remains followed in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery, Alexandria.

THOMPSON – Henry (Hank) (Former BCL Employee.) At the Glen Stor Dun Lodge on Thursday, June 5, 2008. He was 84. Dear father of Glen (Ghislaine) and Carl of Cornwall and Nancy of Kingston. Also survived by 1 granddaughter, 2 great granddaughters and 1 great great granddaughter. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas Henry and Rachel Anne (Wright) Thompson and by one brother John Thompson (May 2008). The funeral took place on Monday, June 9 at Trinity Anglican Church. Loving father of Raymond Provost (Monica) of Washington State, U.S.A. and Carole Rosenbaum (Gunther) of Kelowna, B.C. and stepfather of Jacques Marleau (Louise), Louise Lafrance (Victor) and Jeanette Atkins (Gaylord “Bud”) all of Moose Creek. Dear brother of Claude Provost and Hubert Provost both of Moose Creek, Aurele Provost (Dorothy) of Waterloo, Ontario, Maurice Provost of Cornwall, Ontario, Rene Provost of Montreal, Quebec, Lorraine Brosseau of Gatineau, Quebec and Anita Zappia of Florida. Predeceased by 1 brother Roma Provost and by 1 sister Irene Labonté. Dear son of the late William Provost and the late Marie Anne Sabourin.
