CORNWALL, Ontario – Ribfest 2013 will be a little different this year – but relax, no one is messing with the rib recipe.

Phil Shorey, president of the Cornwall Seaway Lion’s Club, told Seaway News there is going to be an increase in the number of vendors selling their wares at the 2013 edition of the now popular rib festival in Lamoureux Park.

The number of vendors has nearly doubled to about a dozen.

The same six ribbers as last year will return this summer – much to the delight of the thousands of people who will no doubt return to sample their delicious concoctions again.

“Everybody that was involved with us last year were hoping to get 20,000 people,” said Shorey. “Instead we figure it was closer to 47,000.

“We had a lot of people from New York State and the West Island of Montreal show up.”

The Cornwall Seaway Lions Club has set aside July 26 – 28 for Ribfest 2013 in Lamoureux Park.

Live entertainment will also be a cornerstone at this year’s event. Chris Hum, Roxanne Delage, the Heatley Band, Hotel California and River City Junction will play over the course of the three-day event.
