Snowbirds coming to Cornwall on Canada Day

Local Member of Parliament Guy Lauzon announced today that the famous Canadian Snowbirds will be flying over Cornwall during this year’s Canada Day festivities in Lamoureux Park.

“It is a great honour and an excellent addition to our July 1st activities to have the Snowbirds pass through Cornwall again this year,” said MP Lauzon, who also serves as chair of the Cornwall Canada Day Committee. “We are very fortunate to have the Department of National Defence accommodate our request as the Squadron is busy this time of the year, especially with the events in the Nation’s Capital that day.”

The Snowbirds will pass over Lamoureux Park at approximately 12:00 pm on Monday, July 1st, weather permitting.

MP Lauzon also confirmed that BEM Fireworks will still be displayed after dusk.

“BEM called us earlier this week and said they are prepared to put on a firework display for Cornwall on July 1st.Our thoughts and prayers are still with the BEM family at this time.”
