Week four NCAFA action on Sunday, Sept. 15 saw the four Wildcats teams play host to the South Gloucester Giants with mixed results.
The Commercial Truck Center Tyke Cats saw their record drop to 0-4 on the season as they fell to the Giants 53-26.
Cats RB Cam Geary had another big day on the ground scoring four TD’s. “Offensively, this was our best game of the year,” said Cats head coach Dave Gould, looking on the bright side. Gould gave credit to his OL who were “opening up truck sized holes” all game.
The Cats only other TD came courtesy of Charlie Gould.
Giants RB Jeremy Enyeka proved unstoppable on the day recording seven TD’s of his own. Gedeon Mbenga, Amos Tshibanda and Thomas Challa also added majors for the Giants.

The mosquito game turned into a heated slugfest in what was, without doubt, the most entertaining game of the day.
The Health Within Cats, led by yet another four TD performance by RB/WR Eric Cumberbatch and an aggressive defense, bumped their record to 2-2 winning 39-34.
The Cats dominated the first quarter taking a 21-7 lead only to see the Giants storm back to tie it at 21 apiece before the end of the half. After a scoreless third quarter, the teams would exchange multiple majors until Cats LB Max Sabourin disrupted a pitch out in the Giants backfield. As the Giants were backed up on their own goal line, Sabourin fell on the loose ball in the endzone to put his team up a score with less than two minutes to play.
Giants player Zach Hill was ejected from the game during the Giants last offensive series for some after-the-whistle shenanigans, one of six Giants unnecessary roughness penalties on the day.
Cats QB Alexxi Paquette threw for one TD and an interception. Eric’s brother, Patrick Cumberbatch, would provide the only other offensive major for the Cats. Sabourin forced and recovered another fumble earlier in the game and would also make a tackle in the Giants endzone for a safety.
Giants RB Lovely Tshibanda recorded three touchdowns and Avery Crete-Woodhouse would return a kick-off for the other Giants majors.

Everything seems to be gelling for the Longevity Acrylics Peewee Cats who recorded their second win in as many weeks dropping the Giants 21-7. With the win, the Pee-Wee’s improve to 2-2 on the season.
Cats QB Tyler Nasr had a great game which included a soft touch pass from 25 yards out for a highlight reel catch by WR Hayden Sylvester in the Giants endzone to put the Cats up 13-0 in the second quarter. The Giants would respond with a 72 yard TD run by RB Enoc Enyeka but Nasr would sneak in from a yard out on the Cats next drive to preserve the two TD margin.
First year Cats DE Zander Mark was a terror on defense recording two forced fumbles one which he recovered himself and one which was scooped up by teammate Trewan Jodoin for the first major of the game. DB Kylar Tyo would also record an interception for the stingy Cats D.

The 5th Wheel Truck Stop Bantam Cats came out flat and dropped their contest 42-0. With the loss, they fall to 1-3 on the year.
Gone from the Cats lineup was QB Alex Douglas nursing an injured foot from the previous week. WR Jett Hagen replaced Douglas at QB but could not get the offense moving. Head coach Mark Renaud didn’t think the QB change was the issue. “That’s not the problem,” said Renaud “the problem is these guys need to realize the level of intensity that’s needed in the first one or two seconds of play. They’re too hesitant.”
The Giants scored 33 of their 42 points in the first half. The Cats D would tighten up in the third and fourth quarters but their offense would continue to stall.
Jamal Mavinga, Devon Gall, Nicolas Bruna, Elia Enyeka and Neck Dorsainvil all provided single TD’s for the Giants. Giants QB John Bolzanello threw for two TD’s and kicked two FG’s.

Week five will see the Cats traveling to Lietrim Field in Ottawa to take on the Gloucester South Raiders this Sunday, Sept. 22.
