Cornwall Typhoons bring back silver from Oshawa

CORNWALL, Ontario – With the ink barely dry on the new roster, the Cornwall Typhoon Peewee B Girls Hockey Team had to gel quickly on route to the Oshawa General Lady Fall Classic. In their first game the Typhoons fell short to Napanee losing 1-0.  

In the first of Saturday’s three game roster, the young skaters beat Southpoint 2-1; goals coming from Quinn Mulhearn and Brenna Cameron.  In their midday game vs hometown Oshawa Generals the girls put on a clinic outscoring the young Generals 4-1; goals from Madison Ruffo, Amber Flannigan, Taylor McElligott, and Madisson Lamarche .  

The last game of the day the girls were in a do or die situation having to win against the fierce opposition from Lindsay.

Typhoon’s lone goal came from Rylee Garrow and recording her first shutout was Olivia Salmon. In the Semi-finals vs Bancroft , the young ladies outscored the opposition 2-0 to advance them to the finals ,with goals from Quinn Mulhearn and Rylee Garrow ,with Salmon recording her second shutout of the tournament.

In the final game (sixth game of the weekend) the Typhoons fell short of the gold medal with a 3-2 loss to Napanee,with goals from Anabelle Ferland and Zoe Meunier.
