Cornwall man faces drug trafficking and gun charges

CORNWALL, Ontario – A large supply of hard drugs and a firearm have been taken off the streets.

Police confiscated almost $5,000 of what they believe is fentanyl and hydromorphone during a recent bust. A Cornwall man is up against charges for drug possession, drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and an unauthorized possession of a firearm.

On Sept. 26, police executed a drug warrant at a local home, but the whereabouts of the main suspect were unknown. On Sept. 30, Cheza Toth-Gogaru, 45, of Cornwall, turned himself in at police headquarters and was arrested and charged.

A second man, Monte Yancey, 46, of Cornwall, was arrested on the date the warrant was executed.
