Cornwall gets new natural option to address medical needs
City of Cornwall CAO Maureen Adams and Dr. Daria Novy cut the ribbon to officially open the Seaway Naturopathic & Wellness Clinic on Friday

CORNWALL, Ontario – The Seaway Naturopathic & Wellness Clinic is offering natural treatments for the bodies, minds and souls of the residents of Cornwall and the surrounding area.

Dr. Daria Novy, ND, held the grand opening of her new clinic at 2-228 Second Street West on Friday, Dec. 9.

An ND approaches healthcare from a variety of angles, using medical and naturopathic diagnostic tools for assessing health concerns.

Some of the treatments that an ND might employ include clinical nutrition to address dietary issues, acupuncture, botanical medicine, physical manipulation and lifestyle counselling.

These natural treatments can be used to address different varieties of issues, ranging from chronic pain, chronic gastrointestinal complaints, fatigue, prostate problems, stress, mood disorders, and many other medical ailments.

Dr. Novy has completed a pre-medical sciences bachelor degree and a four year naturopathic medical degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.

“Naturopathic medicine has always been a strong passion of mine,” said Dr. Novy at the opening of her new clinic. “It became apparent to me early on that there is a need for other treatment perspectives. As an ND, I get to look over everything that could be contributing to the root cause of the issue, not just the physical, but also the psychological.”

Dr. Novy says that she looks forward to working with her patients to reach their common health goals.

“Whether it be from a sudden or chronic condition, patients suffering from a variety of complaints can greatly impair one’s quality of life”, she says. “My goal as a physician is to understand where you are at in your health now, and help you get to where you want to be.”

Dr. Novy is accepting patients of all ages and conditions, and can be reached at (613) 938-9500, or through www.seawaynaturopathic.ca.
