CORNWALL, Ontario – Hear ye! Hear ye! The Royal Court was in town during the afternoon of Sunday, January 15, and it was jam packed with princesses, princes, Ladies, and Knights, all raising money for a good cause. The 3rd Annual Cornwall Kinette’s Princess Ball took place at the Civic Complex to raise money for cystic fribrosis and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

“It was a magical idea that we came across…It’s an excellent chance to raise funds for cystic fibrosis and the Boys and Girls club here in Cornwall,” said lead organizer Lynn Riviere. “It’s a sold out event, it sells out every year. We have Queen Elsa and Princess Anna showing up later as well, from Dream Birthdays.”

Thanks to the tireless work of 50 volunteers completing approximately 1, 500 man hours, this year the event managed to raise $6, 000, and also saw more Kings, Princes, and other male participants than in previous years.

“We’ve been coming since the beginning. My daughter has been watching this stuff since she was a kid. The first year there wasn’t a lot of fathers, so this is incredible.

“We look forward to this every year,” said returning ‘King’ Daniel Brisebois. “It’s the one day of the year where I make sure it’s all about her. It gives us an opportunity to live as royals. It’s their day, nothing else matter.”

The young royals were entertained throughout the day, with various princess characters, from many of their favourite films, on hand. The children also managed to make a pumpkin turn into a carriage where they were able to have their photos taken.
