CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall and the SD&G area can expect snow mixed with ice pellets starting Monday evening and continuing over the following 24 hours.

According to Environment Canada the weather system is expected to hit Southern Ontario first and then pick up strenght as it enters the Eastern part of the province.

The Special Weather statement went on to say that Eastern Ontario could expect up to 15 cenitmeters of snow and ice before the end of Tuesday night.

Environment Canada said that the Special Weather Statement may be upgraded to a Snowfall Warning based on how the storm develops.

"Travellers should be aware of accumulating snow and lower visibility Monday night and Tuesday," the Special Weather Statement reads.
