Financial support for an upgrade at Morrisburg Arena
The Morrisburg arena will be receiving money to upgrade its ice pad.

MORRISBURG, Ontario – South Dundas Township Council received a welcomed announcement from Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry MPP Jim McDonell at their meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

McDonell confirmed to the council that the Morrisburg Arena would be receiving $315,000 from the  Ontario 150 Community Capital Grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

“I am pleased to see the Ontario Trillium Foundation recognize the importance and support the Municipality’s commitment to providing residents with the best opportunity to live an active and healthy lifestyle. This investment will ensure our community continues to provide affordable and high-quality sport programs to all,” said MPP McDonell.

This upgrade to the ice pad will extend the life and use of the arena. It will also allow staff to continue to maintain free and low-cost programming.

“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be overstated,” said Ben Macpherson, Director of Recreation and Facilities. “It will allow for much needed renovations to be completed.”
