Classified set to play Summer Beer Fest

CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall’s Summer Beer Fest just made a big announcement about the festival’s entertainment. With tickets set to go on sale Mar. 8, Seaway Food Festival recently revealed that Multi-Platinum Canadian hip-hop artist, Classified would be taking the stage at Lamoureux Park this spring.

“We’re excited, but we know that for the past three years we’ve been building a successful event people want to be part of,” said Sebastien Manigat, Director of the Seaway Festival. “We’ve been keeping this under wraps for two weeks, and we’re eager to see how many people we can bring to the park.”

Manigat, a self-proclaimed Classified fan, feels the Nova Scotia native’s wide-ranging appeal will bring more people out to the event. “We really struck a chord with Classified,” said Manigat. “Personally, I think he’s fantastic and will help draw a younger crowd.”

Following the success of his 2016 album, ‘Greatful,’ which featured the likes of DJ Premier, Snoop Dogg, and Saukrates, Classified will be hitting the stage along with his six-piece band. Continuing to generate buzz on a national and international scale, his token style and sound are  a well-blended cross between hip-hop and rock. He will close out a full day of music, craft beer and fine food tasting.

While Manigat and his team are still working on rounding out the lineup, he says that there are a few more surprises around the corner.

“The concert is sort of a ‘thank you’ for spending day with us,” said Manigat. In extending this thanks, Seaway Food Festival will also be working with Limelight Music Academy to put together a local lineup.

“If people liked what we did at Beer Fest in the past, they’re going to love what we’ve got planned this year,” said Manigat. Tickets for the June 24 event will be available for purchase on Wednesday, Mar. 8 starting at 1 p.m.
