Three teens arrested for breaking into cars

CORNWALL, Ontario – Austin-Taylor Anderson, 18, and two 17-year-old Cornwall youths were arrested on July 10, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000 as well as breach of probation.

It is alleged in the early morning hours of July 10, 2017 police were contacted to attend the area of Sunset Boulevard in relation to person’s going through parked cars. Police attended and located the three individuals in the area. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for bail hearings. The names of two17-year-old youths were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5, 000, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Marc Fournier, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on July 7, 2017 and charged with theft under $5, 000 as well as breach of probation and undertaking for failing to notify a change of address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 5, 2017 the man attended a Second Street East store and removed a quantity of cigarettes and other merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 7, 2017 the man who was in custody on an unrelated matter was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – Scott Morris, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on July 7, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on July 2, 2017 the man removed an employee’s personal property from a Montreal Road store and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation a warrant was obtained for the arrest of the man. On July 7, 2017 the man who was in custody on an unrelated matter was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 55-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 7, 2017 and charged with assault with a weapon, assault and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on July 7, 2017 the man punched and kicked his common-law wife. It is also alleged the man struck her with a nail file. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5, 000, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 22-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 9, 2017 and charged with theft under $5, 000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 8, 2017 the woman pawned some of her mother’s jewellery and police were contacted to investigate. On July 9, 2017 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 17, 2017. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
