Cornwall man charged with animal cruelty, assault, intimidation, mischief

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 52-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Nov. 18, 2017 and charged with cruelty to animals, mischief X2, assault X2 and intimidation.

It is alleged between May, 2017 and Nov., 2017 the man assaulted his girlfriend on more than one occasion, kicked her dog, damaged some of her property and threatened retaliation if police were contacted. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 18, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, THREATS, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 16th, 2017 and charged with assault, threats and forcible confinement. It is alleged during an argument on November 16th, 2017 the man assaulted his common-law wife, threatened her and prevented her from leaving the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 16th, 2017 and charged with mischief. It is alleged on October 31st, 2017 during an argument with his ex-girlfriend the man damaged a window at her residence. Police were later contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 16th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 14th, 2017. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 16th, 2017 and charged with break and enter and breach of undertaking for communicating with her ex-boyfriend on two occasions and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 12th, 2017 the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence and on November 13th, 2017 the woman entered her ex-boyfriend’s residence without permission and removed money from the residence. On November 16th, 2017 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shane Blanchard, 28 of Long Sault was arrested on November 17th, 2017 and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, breach of probation for being in possession of a weapon, unlawful drugs and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of a two weapons prohibition orders. It is alleged on November 17th, 2017 while investigating a suspicious person’s complaint the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and an asp (baton) despite his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 18th, 2017 and charged with breach of undertaking for communicating with a certain person, being within 250 meters of that person and being outside her residence after having consumed alcohol. It is alleged on November 18th, 2017 police were contacted to investigate a breach complaint. During the investigation police located the woman in breach of her conditions. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – William King, 51 of Cornwall was arrested on November 18th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation conditions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On November 18th, 2017 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Kingston man was arrested on November 18th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during 2016 and 2017 the man forced his way into his girlfriend’s residence on several occasions, assaulted her, threatened her and damaged some of her property. Police were contacted and during the investigation a warrant was obtained for the arrest of the man. On November 18th, 2017 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 19th, 2017 and charged with mischief. It is alleged during an argument on November 19th, 2017 the man damaged his common-law’s phone and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. . His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 19th, 2017 and charged with assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 19th, 2017 the man kicked his ex-common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. . His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on November 19th, 2017 and charged with mischief and breach of a youth probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 19th, 2017 the youth damaged a wall within her residence and police were contacted to investigate. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
