Cornwall man accused of attacking change machines, people, with a bar

Cornwall, ON – Kelly Tan, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on April 10th, 2018 and charged with the following:

• Disguise with intent
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Assault with a weapon
• Break and enter
• Robbery with a weapon
• Robbery with theft
• Possession of an instrument for breaking into coin operated devices
• Breach of probation
• Mischief over $5000
• Mischief under $5000
• Theft under $5000

Throughout the month of March and early April, 2018, it is alleged the man attended numerous businesses in the city of Cornwall and used a bar to gain entry to multiple change machines. The man removed a quantity of money and caused damage to the machines. It is also alleged the man, while hiding his identity, broke into the residence of a man known to him, assaulted him with a bar, as well as bear spray, and removed property from the residence without his permission. Further, it is alleged the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business on April 3rd, 2018 and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. On April 10th, 2018 police located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kyle Dussiaume, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on April 9th, 2018 and charged with fail to appear for prints and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man failed to appear for prints on March 29th, 2018 and an investigation ensued. On April 9th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 12th, 2018.

POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING COCAINE

Cornwall, ON – Angus Jacobs, 57, of Akwesasne was arrested on April 10th, 2018 and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. It is alleged during a traffic stop on April 10th, 2018 the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 15th, 2018.

THEFT UNDER

Cornwall, ON – Chloe McRae, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on April 10th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged in the early morning hours of April 10th, 2018 the woman entered the vehicle of a woman unknown to her and removed property without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 15th, 2018.

RESIST ARREST, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shane Blanchard, 29, of Long Sault was arrested on April 10th, 2018 and charged with resist arrest and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 10th, 2018 while police were investigating another matter, the man refused to leave the property as directed by police. A struggle ensued and the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 15th, 2018.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 10th, 2018 and charged with breach of undertaking for communicating with his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on April 9th, 2018 the man breached his conditions and police were contacted to investigate. On April 10th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.
