CORNWALL, Ontario – After a sunny day of golfing on Wednesday, July 18, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cornwall and District raised $25, 237. The 24th annual event was sold out with over 140 golfers.

“We are beyond excited to announce that with your help we were able to raise $25, 237 for children in our community. With a waitlist of over 120 children, funds raised will go directly towards recruiting new mentors,” said Jillian Hendry, Fundraising Coordinator in a press release.

According to Hendry, the fundraising goal was $20,000.

Every hole was sponsored, providing something new for golfers throughout the day. The event featured a silent auction, live auction and 50/50 draw.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters thanked their title sponsor, Dairy Queen, and media sponsor, Cornwall Seaway News in a press release. They also thanked all Cornwall Golf and Country Club staff, golfers, volunteers and sponsors.
