MORRISBURG, Ontario – Last week the Morrisburg Combines were in Saint John, NB for the Canada 55+ Senior Games, competing in the 70+ age division.

The Combines dominated in New Brunswick, coming home undefeated.

They went over Alberta 4 to 2, Quebec 8 to 0, Prince Edward Island 6 to 3, Nova Scotia 4 to 1, and finally Orangeville (Ontario’s second entry) 4 to 1 in the gold medal game.

The team credits their success to their hard work rate and not letting up on their forechecking or backchecking.

They outscored their opposition 26 to 7 and leading the way was Jack Haines with 12 points (6 goals) and Fern Gauvreau with 11 points (7 goals).

This was the Morrisburg Combines first gold medal at the Canada 55+ Senior Games.
