CORNWALL, Ontario – A leading snack food manufacturing industry, Leclerc Group, is establishing a production plant in Cornwall with operations set to begin spring of 2019.

“We are very pleased to welcome Leclerc to Cornwall,” said Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy in a press release. “This is a major investment in the City, and one that will have a positive economic impact on the entire region.”

The future production plant in Cornwall will focus on niche products for its clientele. The company manufactures cookies, snack bars and crackers for distribution in more than 30 countries. The company has production facilities in Hawkesbury and Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, and has purchased a 160,000 sq. ft. building in the Cornwall Business Park.

“Cornwall offers a strategic location within North America, and this new facility will allow us to continue to grow our operations,” said Denis Leclerc, President of Leclerc Group. Leclerc added that the company looks forward to welcoming the people of Cornwall to the team.

Leclerc Group will be present at the Cornwall Job Fair at the Cornwall Civic Complex on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Founded in 1905, Leclerc Group has more than 1,100 employees and eight processing plants throughout North America.
