CORNWALL, Ontario – Upwards of 80 community members attended the annual Seaway Senior Citizens Club Christmas Concert on Sunday, Nov. 25.

Held at the club location at 506 Pitt St., members of the public could enjoy live holiday tunes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for $5.

“All of the performances are done by our members; about 30 in the choir, about half a dozen in the bell band and a few playing guitar,” said Lucy Broome, Managing Director of the Seaway Senior Citizens Club.

The event also featured a 50/50 raffles and sweets and refreshments.

“Some of the cookies and brownies are donated to us by Chartwell which is very nice,” said Broome.

Broome was glad to see so many people in attendance.

“It lightens everyone’s spirits. It makes all the club members happy and it’s so enjoyable. Christmas concerts are always fun,” she said.

The senior’s club offers about 30 different activities, including card games, painting, knitting, music, line dancing and more. Each activity is run by a senior member. To attend various events, there is an annual membership and a small fee for different programs.
