Three Hwy 401 collisions in SDG
It is a day for early-morning ice scraping.

UNITED COUNTIES, Ontario – Since the evening of Thursday, Dec. 27, there have been three reported collisions on Hwy 401 within SD&G. No one has been reported injured. 

According to Cst. Eric Ranger, collisions occurred at the following locations:

·         Hwy 401 westbound lanes were closed at Upper Canada Rd. in Morrisburg around 4 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 due to a collision involving a tractor trailer. The lanes were reopened after 6 a.m.

·         A single tractor trailer collision occurred on Hwy 401 eastbound at County Rd. 27 in Lancaster around 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28. The right lane remained closed until approximately 8:50 a.m.

·         A collision involving a Sedan passenger vehicle occurred at Hwy 401 and Dickenson Dr. in Ingleside between the evening on Dec. 27 and the morning of Dec. 28.

“We encourage motorists to add additional time to their commute and to drive at a lower speed to increase reaction time,” advised Cst. Eric Ranger.

Environment Canada ended the Freezing Rain Warning for Cornwall, Lancaster, Winchester and Newington around 10 a.m. on Dec. 28, however the warning has not ended for Maxville – Alexandria.
