Cornwall woman charged for fleeing the scene of an accident

CORNWALL, Ontario – Maria Zwicker, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2019 and charged with the following:

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • Fail to stop at the scene of an accident
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Breach of undertaking (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on Jan. 23, 2019, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. She allegedly struck a motor vehicle in the area of Sydney St. and Eleventh St., and fled the area. The woman was located in the area of Fifteenth St. West and Pitt St., where her motor vehicle had collided with a snow bank. She was taken into custody, at which time she was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 14, 2019.
