CORNWALL and UNITED COUNTIES of SD&G, Ontario – All school boards in the Cornwall area have announced that their schools will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in response to the severe snowstorm hitting the region.
The English public board Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB), the English Catholic board, the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) and their French counterparts, the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) and the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) all decided by 6:30 p.m. Tuesday that they would not risk opening their doors the next day.
Environment Canada is warning that the region could see as much as 40 cm of snow by noon Wednesday along with winds as strong as 60 km/h.
