Speeder resists arrest, assaults police officer

SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario –  On Feb. 10, 2019, at approximately 12:56 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Hwy 401, South Stormont Township for travelling at excessive speeds (159km/h in a posted 100km/hr zone).

During the interaction with the male, he became combative with the officer resisting arrest and assaulting the officer. Once at the Police detachment the male continued to be combative and assaulted officers once again.

Felix Young, 30, of Markham, Ontario, was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault a Peace officer (three counts)

– Resist peace officer

– Stunt Driving – Highway Traffic Act

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on Feb. 11, 2019.
