SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On March 14, 2019 at approximately 12:32 p.m., members from the SD&G OPP intercepted a stolen SUV on Hwy 401, South Stormont, ON. The investigation revealed that an adult male was in possession of a stolen SUV (Lexus RX35) from Toronto, ON. The investigation further revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Giuseppe Ianiro, 59, of Saint-Leonard, QC, was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Drive Motor Vehicle – No licence (Highway Traffic Act)
– Driving Motor Vehicle with open container of liquor (Liquor licence act)
He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
